The writer is quickly running out of superlatives to describe the recent run of form that Rangers have hit, following on from last week's 4-1 victory over the same opposition.
Rangers upped the ante again this week with a crushing 6-1 win over their local rivals as they marched into the quarter finals of the Wharfedale and District Cup.
In a similar scenario to last week St Margarets started like a team out for revenge and for 15 minutes put Rangers under the cosh but the defence of Steven Fowler, Tom Mellor and Carl Covey, superbly marshaled throughout by skipper Matt Long managed to stand firm.
On 20 minutes Richard Lee was pulled back by a defender as he looked to burst into the 18 yard box.
The resulting free kick saw the St Margarets keeper poorly placed to allow Lee to pick his spot and put the ball around the wall and into the bottom corner of the goal.
Once again in a carbon copy of last week St Margarets managed to get themselves level when a through ball saw the opposition striker burst clear and place the ball into the Rangers goal.
With half an hour gone Rangers were awarded another free kick this time Lee's effort was tipped onto the bar by the goalkeeper, from the resulting corner Nick Wood's excellent delivery was met with a clever front post header by Paul Walker to put Rangers back in the lead.
With half time just minutes away a lovely chip into the St Margarets box by Fowler was unfortunately headed over his own keeper by former Rangers stalwart Kris Lewis with Rob Sturdy applying pressure on him.
The second half began in similar style to the first and a point blank save by Will Wilson kept Rangers two goal advantage.
On the hour a long ball out of defence saw Lee race clear out on the right he turned inside the St Margarets left back before rolling a perfectly weighted ball to the on rushing Wood who coolly lifted the ball over the grounded keeper and into the net from 10 yards.
Within 10 minutes the game was over as a contest. Lee as he has time and again this season showed he is a provider as well as goal scorer his cross from the right saw Lewis hammer the ball into his own goal for a second time while attempting to clear his lines.
The best was saved for last. Alex Bradbury fed man of the match Lee who turned his marker and with options left and right he chose to go alone hitting a stunning 30 yard lob over the stranded goalkeeper who could only look on as the ball sailed over his head and into the net, this was a strike of true class and would not have looked out of place in any of the weekends International matches.
So an unprecedented six wins in seven games now for Rangers and a league game to come next week against Yeadon Westfield.
Players and players and fans alike will be hoping the recent run of form continues for a long time.
