Turf Talk: Kirby booking suggests a '˜big run' is expected from Supersta at Chelmsford

Supersta can show the benefit of a recent outing in the totepoolliveinfo.com For Racing Results Handicap at Chelmsford.

Trained by Mick Appleby having spent his early career with Ron Harris, he took his form to a whole new level in the spring. The first time he won for Appleby was from a lowly rating of 60 at Wolverhampton in October 2015. Since then he has won another five races and now resides on a perch of 94, which is as good an example as any of Appleby’s talents.

He won a handicap off just 1lb lower in May, proving this mark is certainly not beyond him, and the handicapper was pretty lenient in dropping him 2lb for his most recent run. That was his first start for nearly six months so he was entitled to be rusty, however, he was in no way disgraced in finishing fourth behind the well-backed Charles Molson.

It is fairly obvious he should strip fitter for that, Adam Kirby has been booked for the first time and a big run looks assured in this £20,000 race.

Harry Dunlop is enjoying a good winter with his small but select all-weather string.

His Bataka looks interesting in the @totepool Tweet Us Your #toteELFIE Maiden Auction Stakes.

Relatively unconsidered for her debut at Salisbury, she stayed on nicely to take second, albeit beaten five lengths.

Dunlop then chased black type in a Newmarket Listed race but given she was 100-1, it is no surprise she was out of her depth.

Her dam, Dominica, was very speedy and won a King’s Stand, but the stamina comes from her sire, Mount Nelson, and this seven-furlong trip should be fine.

Jessica Harrington’s Rock On The Moor can land the feature Lady Godiva Mares’ Novices’ Chase at Warwick.

She has gone chasing a little later than some as she is already eight, but she showed enough on her first run over the bigger obstacles to suggest she should be just as effective.
