But it is perhaps best to just chalk that one up to experience and hope he can produce the kind of form that saw him win a Listed race on his seasonal bow this year and run a fine fourth behind Muhaarar at the end of last year.

Quicker ground is a definite plus and switching back to Group Three company should be another positive, although Charming Thought is expected to put up stiff opposition.

Their relationship goes way back so the fact Hanagan is aboard this filly makes her worth a second look.

A narrow neck winner on her sole start at Thirsk last month, this daughter of Elzaam looked the type to improve again and while this race is something of a lottery, she could well provide the winning ticket.
