Turf Talk: Beverley winner Line Of Reason looking to improve his CV

Line Of Reason secured his first win in a year at Beverley last time out and now he is back on form, he can add Hamilton's EBF Stallions Soba Conditions Stakes to his CV.

The six-year-old has seen plenty of racing since winning on his debut in September 2012, but he appeared to be reaching his peak last term as some good runs in better company, including a Listed win at Cork, saw his rating climb to a high of 111.

His good form inspired Paul Midgley to pitch him into Group One company in the Nunthorpe but he made little impression there and did not get his head in front in three subsequent starts either.

Midgley had him back in action early this term, running in a Lingfield Listed heat in February, but it took him four runs to get back into winning trim on the Westwood.

He got a good lead from Red Pike that day before kicking on inside the final furlong for a length and a quarter win, with the front two pulling six lengths clear of the rest.

Technically Line Of Reason is 1lb worse with Move In Time than he should be as he bids to follow up, but his recent victory should have bolstered his confidence and some Group entries later in the year suggest he is still showing plenty at home.

Spirit Of Zeb has hit the bar on both starts this term but can finally come good in the totepool Chatelherault Palace Handicap.

Rated 80 at the end of last year after winning twice, Spirit Of Zeb has dropped back slightly to a mark of 75 after two solid, if unspectacular, runs in 2016.

As he has won off 74 in the past, his current assessment gives him more than a squeak.

Fashion Parade should appreciate a step up in trip in the bet365 Maiden Stakes at Brighton.

She has shown flashes of ability in two starts over seven furlongs and a mile so far, but this near 10-furlong trip looks ideal judged on her breeding.

She was a bit too slow to trouble the leaders on her debut, while again a slight lack of toe saw her come unstuck when fourth at Haydock.
