Arabian Queen has already created one surprise in her racing career and can cause another upset by lifting the EBF Stallions John Musker Fillies’ Stakes at Yarmouth.

David Elsworth’s charge defied her 50-1 price tag when inflicting a famous defeat on Golden Horn in last year’s Juddmonte International at York and while it will not be as big a shock if she can top one-time Oaks favourite So Mi Dar here, it will certainly be another feather in her cap.

Admittedly So Mi Dar, who we have not seen since the Musidora at York in May, has much more obvious claims as she arrives unbeaten in three starts while Arabian Queen has been beaten in both her outings this term.

Both fillies have been sidelined for a while now and despite Arabian Queen having that bit of Group One form in the book, So Mi Dar must concede 1lb to her, a factor which could become crucial in a tight finish.

Arabian Queen has not struck since her International win but she plied her trade at the highest level at the end of last term and there was plenty to like about her initial second behind Usherette at Newmarket back in May.

Her stamina did not appear to last home when well beaten by Postponed in the Coronation Cup on her most recent outing and she is reported to have suffered intermittent lameness since that run.

Obviously her issues are not ideal but she must have been showing more promise at home for Elsworth to bring her back for this 10-furlong heat and given she has 3lb in hand of So Mi Dar on the official figures and upwards of 10lb on the rest, it will be disappointing if she cannot throw down a decent challenge in this Listed heat.

Al Neksh did himself few favours when taking a keen hold at Goodwood last time out but should be granted another chance in the Parklands Leisure Holiday Distributors Handicap.
