By Scott Wilson York defender Gary Hobson will miss tonight's home game with Wrexham after sustaining a groin injury in Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Bournemouth.
The 29-year-old was forced off with 15 minutes to play at Dean Court and will sit out tonight's game against a Wrexham side on the same number of points as the Minstermen in the third division.
Tom Cowan (calf) and Stephen Brackstone (back) both face late fitness tests after missing Saturday's defeat and York boss Terry Dolan is hopeful that at least one should be in contention for a starting spot.
Right wing-back Darren Edmondson will return to the side after serving a one-match suspension at the weekend, meaning Chris Smith can revert to his preferred position at centre-half.
A 78th-minute Steve Fletcher strike condemned York to a 1-0 defeat on the south coast, but Dolan refused to be too disheartened despite his side recording just one win from their last six games.
"We're playing all right but the results just aren't going for us at the moment,'' he said.
"We've just got to keep believing in what we're doing, keep giving it everything we've got and then the results will come.''
