THE three-round trilateral Lexus Yorkshire Challenge, being staged at three Ryder Cup courses in Moortown, Ganton and Lindrick, produced two holes in one on day two.

Unfortunately for the golfers involved neither came at the designated hole that would have put a Lexus at their disposal for a year.

Consolation for missing out on the car came in the form of a £750 prize for each of them.

Bondhay’s Graham Rye aced Lindrick’s 165-yard par-3 third hole and Tom Booth (Hillside) aced Moortown’s 168-yard fourth.

Overall leaders going into Friday’s final day are Bingley St Ives’ Ronnie and Dave Dawson with 83 points.

They are one ahead of Howley Hall’s Brian Hill and Martin Barber.
