Simeon in Farsley return
FOOTBALL: Nine months after departing, Farsley Celtic legend Simeon Bambrook has returned to Throstle Nest and become boss Neil Parsley's assistant manager.
Bambrook cemented his place in Celts history by scoring the goal that took the club into the Blue Square Premier for the first time, three years ago against Hinckley United at the Pirelli Stadium.
The 37-year-old hung his Celts’ jersey up last September, seemingly for the last time, when he was released by previous manager John Deacey and joined local rivals Guiseley in the UniBond Premier.
Despite enjoying a successful spell at Nethermoor, Bambrook left Steve Kittrick’s men a month ago and has now reappeared on the scene at Farsley and is delighted to be back. “I’m back home,” said Bambrook. “It’s good to be back as well in this role I have been offered to help Neil in coaching. It’s my first role in management and I think I’m coming into a good team with Pars (Neil Parsley) and Jacko (Mark Jackson).”
Boss Parsley also confirmed that defender Mark Jackson takes the position of player/coach in his mini pre-season backroom reshuffle.
