Reith double sets up United victory

Red Triangle League THE two matches that survived the conditions in the Hainsworth Premier League boasted 13 goals between them with Wykebeck Arms United taking the honours with a 4-0 home win over Ekhaya African Sports.

Steven Reith (2), Neil Myland and Steven Richardson did the damage in a comprehensive team performance.

But the real fireworks were at Yew Tree East Leeds where the hosts went down 5-4 to Halton Moor for whom Adam Proctor (2), David Stead, Julian Seeley and an own goal registered.

Rowland Road WMC advanced in the second round of the Divisional Cup – with strikes from Graham Stockdale (3), James Rutherford, Adam Prince and Jamie McGettigen seeing them home 6-0 at Leeds Deaf – while Merlins defeated Farnley Sports

2-1 in the first round of the competition with Simon Butterey and Tony Robertson grabbing the goals.

Goals were also in rich supply in the Jackson Trophies Division with Gate FC seeing off Super Eagles 5-3. Craig McDonagh, David Benson, Elliot Gales, Stephen Cooper and Chris Dobson scored their goals with Justice Madeya, Samuel Kabewa and Michael Achempong replying for Eagles.

There was an even closer encounter at Churwell New Inn Reserves where Skinners Arms FC won 5-4.

Patrick Davis, Andrew Jason, Mark Henry and Geoffrey White (2) registered for Skinners with Peter Jackson (2), Jamie Stevenson and Mick Rowland netting for the hosts.

In the Division Cup, a Lee McKenzie hat-trick helped Leodis to a 7-0 verdict over Middleton Park Reserves with Alan Moss another three-goal hero in New Farnley CC's win at home to Middleton Park.
