Morton guides Arms to a cup shock

DARYL MORTON netted a hat-trick as Leeds Red Triangle Jackson Trophies side Skinners Arms pulled off an Albert West All Sports Cup shock after sending Hainsworth Premier outfit Merlins packing 4-0.

Also on the scoresheet was Paul Reggan.

After 13 successive league defeats this term, Middleton Park vented their frustration on Leeds Deaf, triumphing 6-1 with Ryan Brough plundering a treble.

Adding to their tally were Skot Hawey, Stephen Carr and Mark Pearson.

Amaranth edged past gritty Drighlington Adwalton 1-0, while David Sutcliffe's solitary strike proved enough for Seacroft WMC, who squeezed past Railway East Ardsley 1-0.

In the Mark Kirkham Senior Cup, goals from Steve Trelling, Martin Great and Danny Petty proved enough for Wyebeck Arms United, who narrowly overcame Hainsworth Premier rivals Kippax Welfare 3-2.

Craig McDonagh (2) and Matthew Jackson were on the money for Hainsworth Premier leaders Gate, who held off Churwell New Inn 3-2 in the Metcalfe Sports Challenge Cup. Bernard Ferdinand and Declan O'Donnell netted for New Inn.

Meanwhile, a Mark Gunjall double enabled Dewsbury Road Social to edge out Leodis 2-1, for whom Oliver Smith struck.

The only Hainsworth Premier action saw East Leeds move up to third after seeing off lowly Leeds Ventura 3-0.

Carl Douglas fired a double with Ryan Robinson also finding the back of the net.

In the Jackson's Trophies League, Joe Johnson was the hat-trick hero for Squinting Cat, who eased to just their third win in 16 this term with a 6-0 success over Cricketers Arms.

Also contributing to the haul were Wayne Woods (2) and Mark Lockwood.

Bainbridge United and Super Eagles drew 1-1.
