Copley hat-trick keeps Halton on top

STEVEN Copley blasted a treble to keep pacesetters Halton Moor ahead of the pack at the top of the Leeds Red Triangle Hainsworth Premier after a 5-1 blitzing of Ekhaya.

Julian Seely completed the nap hand with a double.

Second-placed Wyebeck Arms saw their wings clipped in a 2-2 draw at Seacroft WMC, goals from Seacroft's Steven Keeling and Dennis Martin being cancelled out by Brendan Cowlan and Stefan Kennedy.

Hope Inn had a day to savour, with Joseph Rozyski going nap with five goals in their 10-2 thrashing of struggling Leeds Ventura.

Mark Thornton played second fiddle with a hat-trick with Matt Stoker and Liam Simpson also netting. Kippax, without a win this term were undone 4-0 at home by Amaranth, while Middleton Park were obliterated 8-0 at Dewsbury Road Social Club, for whom Jamie Clegg fired a hat-trick.

Another hat-trick man was Steve Cooper, who helped Gate wallop East Leeds 8-2.

Churwell New Inn had Merlins in a spell in a 4-2 triumph, thanks to goals from Johnny Myers, Mark Jackson, Vernard Ferdinard and Richard Wright. In the Jackson Trophies League, Leodis and Bainbridge United maintained their 100 per cent records with victories over pointless Halfway House Morley and Cricketers Arms.

Leodis triumped 6-2, with Lee McKenzie netting twice, while Jared McGivern also hit a brace as Bainbridge stumped Cricketers 3-1. Performance of the day saw Brian Tunstall plunder six of the best in Railway Saturday's 11-0 victory against Dynamo Turbot.

Keiron O'Reilly netted a brace in Farnley Sports' 3-1 derby victory against New Farnley CC, while Super Eagles sent Squinting Cat packing 8-1.

Goals from Otis Clarke and Paul Reggan helped Skinners Arms edge past Drighlington Adwalton 2-1.
