Ashcroft's hat-trick Kanes Churwell

EAST LEEDS go marching on in pursuit of the Leeds Red Triangle League's Hainsworths Premier Division title and three wins in a week have done their cause no end of good.

Churwell New Inn were put to the sword 7-1 on Monday with goals from Kane Ashcroft, who bagged a hat-trick, Kale Douglas (2), Jad McAndrew and Everton Cunningham, but two days earlier Ekhaya African Sports had been despatched 5-1 with Ashcroft again registering with a couple and Dylan Wood (2) and Jamie Hainsworth also weighing in.

Wood had again been on target the previous Monday as East Leeds had cruised to a 2-0 success over Farnley Nags Head.

And the league leaders also eased to success in the CS Sports Divisional Cup final when a hat-trick from Sean Haley gave them a 3-1 verdict over Churwell New Inn at Tadcaster.

Steve Keeling bagged a hat-trick for Wykebeck Arms United in their 8-0 victory against Merlins.

Danny Petty, Joe Lightfoot, Neil Myland, Michael Nelson and Gary Martin weighed in with the others.

Gate remain the side to beat in the Jacksons Trophies Division but several impressive scorelines in the past week prove that they are by no means the only entertainers in a keenly-contested section.

Nearest rivals Bainbridge United defeated Farnley Sports 4-0 nine days ago through goals from Matthew McCade (2), Jared McGivern and James Hughes.

They then followed it up by defeating Churwell New Inn Reserves by the odd goal – scored by Jonathan Woolnaugh – and Middleton Park Reserves on Monday night through goals from Jarad McGivern (2), Matthew McCade and Hatel Patal.
