It was a fantastic afternoon for Leeds Women’s football as Leeds LFC and Guiseley AFC Vixens both racked up wins in the FA Women’s Premier League Northern Division One, writes GEORGE ALDRIDGE.

Leeds were three up by the interval, away to Morecambe, thanks to an outstanding double from the in-form Bianca Ross, who takes her tally for the season to six in 10 and a superb strike from Hannah Campbell to take her personal tally to seven in 11.

Morecambe did strike back with a consolation goal but it did little to dampen Leeds’ spirits on a day when they were in complete control from the offset.

The victory leaves Leeds in fourth place and just six points away from league leaders Liverpool Marshalls Feds LFC.

Meanwhile Guiseley overcame third-placed Chorley LFC 2-1 thanks to a Rebecca Kendell brace.

She now has 10 for the season, one shy of team-mate Tanya Rich (pictured).

The result leaves Guiseley in fifth place but with a game in hand on everybody above them, a win in that spare game would send them third.

One feels that Kendell and Rich’s goal prowess will be instrumental if Guiseley are to make a serious promotion push.

This week, the county cup fixtures are being played and Leeds LFC face fellow Northern Division One side Tranmere Rovers LFC. Guiseley host North East Regional Womens Football League Premier side Peterlee RA.

In West Riding County Womens Football League Cup, Division Three side Tingley Athletic Reserves continued their incredible perfect start to the season with a shock 2-1 win away to Premier Division Hemwsorth. Tingley sit top of their league with a whopping +63 Goal difference after just five games but this still goes down as a huge upset.

That’s the cup for you.
