Ossett Town Ladies beat the bad weather to pull off a 4-2 victory at Bradford Park Avenue in the West Riding County Womens Football League Premier, writes DAISY YOUNG.

Ossett got off to the perfect start when just five minutes in Danielle Sidebottom beat the offside trap and slotted the ball past the keeper.

Ossett looked to build on their early lead but it was Park Avenue who equalised 15 minutes later after Jo Barraclough diverted a corner into her own net.

Town looked to get back into the game and were rewarded for their efforts on 36 minutes when Caroline Omboyi’s scuffed shot beat the keeper at her near post.

It looked like Town might reach half-time with their noses in front but Park Avenue had other ideas as they equalised in added time to leave the scores level at two each.

Great combination play down the right hand side resulted in Abby McQuillan putting in a perfect cross for Chloe Holt to guide the ball past the keeper and give Ossett a 3-2 lead with a minute to play.

Sidebottom broke through on the left-hand side to put the result beyond doubt and leave Town sitting at the top of the League in time for Christmas.
