Women's Football: Lively Leeds hold nap hand over Blackburn

Arianne Parnham drew Leeds level after going 1-0 down early on, before Veatriki Sarri (2), Harriet Jakeman and Simona Petkova’s efforts gave them a convincing win to move them up two places into fifth.

Ammas will hope for a better performance in the semi-final than the one they produced at the weekend, with their title clash at Tingley Athletic Reserves ending in a crushing 4-1 win for the hosts. Nadine Bates netted for Amateur, who now sit second on goal difference behind their opponents, with a pulsating final two games ahead of them as two points separate a top three that includes Farsley Celtic Reserves.

The Second Division lead also changed hands as a goal in each half from Jess Weed and Jodie Berry put Clifton Rangers top of the league on goal difference ahead of their opponents Leeds City with two games in hand.

It is now four wins in a row for Farsley Celtic ‘A’ with their match at Durkar Devils seeing another huge 7-0 win for the Celts as they look firmly on course to dodge the drop.

The same cannot be said to Kirkstall Crusaders, whose 4-1 defeat at league-leaders Ripon City Panthers leaves them two points from safety.
