FC Gawthorpe started their Wakefield League Premier Division campaign with a 6-1 mauling of Old Bank WMC.

Dominic Karimi scored a hat-trick for the home side, adding to goals through Wayne Newsome, Alex Pickles and Andy Pickles.

Fieldhead Hospital beat Syndale Athletic 2-1 at home thanks to goals from Jake Parr and Carl Walker.

Seacroft AFC began their season with a 3-1 win at Crofton Sports FC.

Meanwhile Garforth WMC AFC’s home match against Bramley Athletic was postponed on Saturday.

In Division One Dewsbury Rangers OB started off with a 4-3 triumph over visitors Featherstone Colliery FC. A brace from John Pugh guided Rangers to their win along with goals from Jack Phethean and Rob Smith.

AFC Kettlethorpe won 3-1 at Pontefract Sports and Social.

Stefan Furniss, Jamie Miller and Jon Atkinson were on the scoresheet for Kettlethorpe.

In Division Three Waterloo FC beat visitors Crofton Sports FC Reserves 2-1 thanks to goals from Dale Reynolds and Shane Jones.

Horbury Athletic thrashed visitors Ryhill FC 8-1, Syndale Athletic Reserves beat Overthorpe SC at home 2-1 and White Rose FC won 3-1 at Swan Wakefield FC.
