Water-Into-Beer are now comfortably in mid-table after a 2-1 win against East Leeds AFC at home.
The final of the Hope Cup also took place on Sunday, with Chapeltown Fforde Grene and Harehills WMC FC facing off after a gruelling cup schedule encompassing a group stage and the tension of knockout matches. It was Chapeltown Fforde Green who ultimately emerged as the victors, beating Harehills 2-1 to lift the trophy.
The Leeds Sunday Alliance Premier saw one clash this weekend, with defending champions Leeds Maccabi losing 1-0 to Torpedo Woodhall. Now ten points behind Commercial HQ in first, second-placed Maccabi look unlikely to defend their crown, and the league is seemingly in Commercial’s hands.
Elsewhere, the Division One Trophy’s semi-finals were contested. Leeds YMCA progressed to the final with a 3-1 win against West Leeds Wortley, who had beat Seacroft Colts in the previous round to reach this stage. Northern Star are also in the final after a 3-0 win against Scholes Suelo. The final between Leeds YMCA and Northern Star is scheduled to take place on the 11th of May.
In the Wharfedale Triangle Premier Division, leaders Ilkley Dynamo played the only game of the weekend, following up their midweek 9-0 trouncing of Otley Tavern by beating Menston Town 6-1 at home to move six points clear at the top of the table.
Division One saw Cottingley WMC beat first placed Cullingworth Youth, only Cullingworth’s third loss of the season. Milford FC won 2-1 against fellow strugglers Cookridge Hall, moving nine points ahead of them in the process. Second placed Horsforth St Margarets Sunday failed to take advantage of Cullingworth Youth’s slip, only managing a draw against Armley Rangers, who sit fifth in the league. Milford and Horsforth clashed in midweek, with Horsforth winning 3-1.
The Claro League saw several cup fixtures take place this weekend. Wetherby Athletic put together a 2-0 away win against Harlow Hill Club to progress in the League Challenge Cup.
