Playing their fifth game of the season, remarkably they were up against Seacroft WMC for the third time, having played them once in the league and once in the cup in the first two weeks of the season.

After falling 2-1 in the opening game, Seacroft heaped revenge on Leeds City a week later in the Sunday Senior Cup, in an enthralling 5-3 result. Yet they remain winless in the league and were comfortably beaten 2-0 as Nick Clarke’s brace put his side top, ahead of Chapeltown.

Elsewhere, bottom side Main Line Social were at home to JB Celtic, who, after narrowly succumbing to a 1-0 defeat against the league leaders last time out, were back to winning ways with a routine 4-0 rout, goals coming from John Mallinson (2), Jack McMurrough and Richie Banks.

With just three league games completed between them, both HT Sports and Horsforth Fairweather had the opportunity to secure their first win. However, it was HT that came out on top with a resounding 6-1 win. A brace from Sam Hewitt along with goals from Sam Ackroyd and Barrie Danby had put the home side in a comfortable position, and the tie was firmly put to bed when substitute Baz Frankland added another two.

In the Premier Division, bottom duo Harehills WMC and FC Broadway met knowing that a win could put them as high as seventh.

And though Krystian Jaworski continued his fine form with another double for Harehills, Broadway went home victorious as Carlton Binks and Matt Walker each scored a brace in a thrilling 5-3.

With both Kippax Sundays and East Leeds Celtic yet to drop points, the pressure got to both. And though Kippax remain unbeaten after a 1-1 draw with Colton, East Leeds Celtic move down to third after a 5-2 defeat against fifth-placed Swillington Welfare.

Taking advantage of East Leeds Celtic’s defeat were Kirkstall Crusaders away at ninth-placed Hunslet Parnaby. Hubert Jamroz bagged two whilst James Burgess, Martin Loveridge, Kyle Wilcock and Mark Whittam all added one each as the Crusaders ran out 6-1 winners.

In Division One, there were just two games played but both featured teams from the wrong end of the table.

Hare & Hounds secured their second win of the season, winning 4-1 away at Oulton Athletic, who have now lost four from four.

But the more thrilling affair came at Moortown Albion as they welcomed Commercial HQ to their ground. Both were yet to win in the league this season, but, after a 5-3 victory, Moortown have climbed to eighth.

Phil Gomersal scored two, while Matty Hoddell, Hassan Dambatta and Kristian Johnson chipped in. For Commercial, Michael Hartley netted a double and Ryan McGee added the other.

But after six games their team have just one point along with the worst goal difference in the division.

With Division Two leaders Corpus Christi in cup action, West Leeds Armley knew a win against struggling AFC Elford would see them top, for the time being, on goal difference.
