COLTON Junior Whites Under-11s confirmed their promotion from Division Four of the Garforth & District Junior League with a crushing 5-1 win at third-placed Castleford Town Under-11s.
Charlie McDonnell, with a double, plus Luca Amini, William Lobley and Jack Murray all got on the scoresheet as the league leaders signed off their season in style.
The East Leeds side, who were mid-table at Christmas, now hold a four-point lead over faltering Glen Juniors, who need at least four points from their last three games to take the title.
Elsewhere, Hall Green United Under-16s battled their way to a 2-1 success at home to Dewsbury Rangers Under-16s in Division Four of the Huddersfield League.
Goals from Eliot Schofield and Jack Davies secured Green all three points.
Horsforth St Margaret’s Under-14s Stallions boosted their Garforth League Division One survival bid with Sunday’s 5-1 success at home to relegation rivals Stanningley Albion Under-14s Reds.
Striker Loz Patterson was Horsforth’s star of the show as his brilliant hat-trick proved the main difference between the two sides.
Horsforth’s Harrison Lightowler also had his best game of the season as he weighed in with a brace.
Stanningley managed a consolation goal but otherwise the Horsforth goalkeeping duo of Connor Barrowclough in the first half and Dan Pratt in the second half were rarely troubled.
Hall Green United Under-15s fell to a 4-3 loss at home to Meltham Under-15s in Division Three of the Huddersfield League.
Green goals came from Adam Margison, James Smith and Brandon Hewlitt.
Ossett Albion Under-12s stumbled to a 2-1 victory over Drighlington B Under-12s in their first match since clinching the Huddersfield JFL Division Two championship.
Albion showed little of their usual fluency but goals from Thomas Mee and Haydan Lindley-Spink saw them gain their 17th consecutive league win.
James Donachie and Luke McGrath shared the Albion player of the match award.
Wrenthorpe Rangers Under-12s produced a great team performance to defeat visiting Hunslet Juniors Under-12s 5-0 in Division One of the Garforth League.
Mason Spencer netted a brace for Wrenthorpe who also had Luke Arnett, Bradley Stringer and Ewan Hallows netting – the last of the three from the penalty spot.
Stanningley Albion Reds Under-11s romped to a 13-1 success at Gipton Juniors Under-11s in Division One of the (nine-a-side) Garforth League.
Stanningley’s Jarvis Barker led the way with a hat-trick with braces also netted by Luke Higgins, Jack Goodyear, Haroon Bostan and Jake Rollinson.
The away side’s Taylor Thompson and Louis Staniforth also added a goal apiece.
Hall Green United Under-11s raced to a 6-1 success at home to Honley Under-11s in Division 5A of the Huddersfield League.
Zak Groves opened the scoring for Green inside the first minute with Emily Sykes following up with a penalty.
Dovydas Burtulis then made it 3-0 and the second half saw Sykes and Groves each adding to the score by bagging their second goals of the game.
Josh Norbury finished the scoring after a powerful run through the centre
Alex Tunningley was awarded the Green player of the match award.
Hall Green United Under-9s A edged out visiting Keborough Under-9s in a Division I local derby in the Huddersfield League.
Daniel Myers snatched United’s first goal before the visitors equalised deep into the second half.
But last gasp goal for Myers again sealed United’s victory.
Ben Thackrah’s dominance in defence earned him the Green man of the match award.
Hall Green United Under-9s exited the Huddersfield League Trophy after an 8-0 loss at home to Deighton Under-9s in the fourth round.
Despite demonstrating team determination and a spirited performance from man of the match Dylan Lindsey, Hall Green United were outplayed on the day by an extremely good Deighton outfit.
