HarrogaTE CSC came from 2-1 down to beat off visiting Showbiz Whites 3-2 in a Division One cracker on Sunday, writes CAMERON MATTHEWS.
Second-bottom Showbiz took the lead from Kev Morris on 20 minutes but CSC levelled before the break.
Michael Kulik then restored the Whites advantage after the interval but the game took a massive swing in CSC’s favour when Showbiz captain Shane Kirk was forced off with injury reducing them to 10 men.
And CSC made the extra man count scoring two late goals to make it two wins out of two at the top of the table.
Harry Weemes – with a brace – and Tom Hesketh netted the CSC goals.
Wetherby Athletic took a 2-2 draw from their trip to Harrogate Cosmos. Ian Prendergast was amongst the Athletic scorers.
Boroughbridge slumped to a second defeat in a row with Edmore Marau scoring twice for hosts Markington who triumphed 4-3. Tom Mounds and Luke Morrell also netted for Markington with strikes from Luke Fletcher, Paul Scaife and Oliver Bone in vain for ’Bridge.
In Division Two, Navigation hammered visiting Hampsthwaite United 9-2 thanks largely to hat-tricks from Daniel Edmunds and Daniel Wise. Mathew Bland and Martin Foyle were also among the Navigation scorers. Killinghall Nomads also breezed to a 5-2 victory at home to bottom side Burton Leonard. Joe Whiteley netted a double for Nomads whose Steven Robinson, Alisdair Bowles and Ben Turner also struck. Stu Kidd and Scott Renfrew hit home for Leonard.
In Division Three, Headingley Rovers moved top with a 2-2 draw at Wetherby Athletic Reserves. Craig Wilson and Brad Llyod struck for Rovers with Ross Brown and Gavin Drysdale, pictured, goals notching the hosts a draw.
