Leeds United visit Middlesbrough and the Riverside Stadium this evening in what could prove to be one of the most consequential fixtures of the season for Daniel Farke’s men.

The Whites trail top spot and Leicester City by four points after the Foxes recorded a narrow victory over West Bromwich Albion at the weekend and will only return to the automatic promotion places if they secure a win on Teesside tonight.

Ipswich Town do not play until Saturday afternoon, at which point Leeds could be four points clear of the Tractor Boys, should they win back-to-back games versus Middlesbrough and then Queens Park Rangers on Friday evening.

United are without Connor Roberts and Pascal Struijk for tonight’s contest, while Jamie Shackleton is a doubt. Middlesbrough, on the other hand, have a lengthy absentee list which includes Leeds loanees Sam Greenwood and Luke Ayling, both of whom are ineligible to feature against their parent club.

Kick-off is at 8pm. Build-up, line-ups, team news, goal and score updates and everything else here throughout the evening.

Middlesbrough vs Leeds United LIVE

74' Azaz hits the side-netting as Boro fizz a cross into the six yard box. Piroe on for Bamford. Striker serenaded by the away end for his efforts today.

72' Joel Piroe coming on shortly.

68’ Dijksteel and Thomas off; Bangura and Gilbert on

67' Ball in the net from Bamford but the linesman's flag is up. Boro fans cheer sarcastically.

66' Archie Gray goes on a run down the left, no help in sight and is bundled off the ball by Finn Azaz. A bit of afters between the pair. No yellows, though.

GOOOOOOOOOOOOALLLLLLLL SUMMERVILLE 4-2

62' Leeds break, Bamford holds it up, plays it to Gray but Firpo takes charge and steams forward, threading Summerville through. Still a lot to do but gets it onto his right and bangs one into the far corner. Tops are off in the away end.

Tactical? Or tired?

56' Leeds so deep just inviting pressure. Very unlike them. Hard ask sustaining that for the next 35-40 minutes as Meslier is almost charged down by Latte Lath.

53' O'Brien's run isn't tracked adequately enough and he's allowed to chip a cross into the area. Gets a nick and Meslier forced to tip over for a corner. Byram clears with a commanding header before Rutter almost steals the ball away for a counter.

50' Boro dominating possession in this second half, passing around patiently waiting for gaps to appear. Leeds doing the chasing and attempting to counter, but so far to little effect.

46' Players out for the second half. No changes either side.
