Leeds United confirmed the signing of Peterborough United forward Nicky Ajose today with Juventus centre-back Frederik Sorensen also set to join the club.
Ajose - United’s seventh signing of the summer - joins for an undisclosed fee and has penned a three year contract.
The former Manchester United youngster has over 100 Football League appearances to his name and has scored over 30 goals.
His spell with Peterborough was affected by injuries and saw him move on loan several times but he scored 17 goals for the Posh and Swindon Town last season.
Sorensen was expected to finalise the terms of a season-long loan from Turin today.
United have been pushing to take Sorensen from Juventus for the past week and talks between the clubs appear to have reached a successful conclusion.
The Danish defender is understood to have flown to England with the intention of joining Leeds before the Championship season begins at Millwall on Saturday.
The 22-year-old has been with Juventus since 2010 and spent two years with Bologna before returning to the reigning Serie A champions this season.
The deal between Leeds and Juventus is likely to include a clause giving United the option to sign him permanently in a year’s time.
