Leeds United: Vieira and Taylor in contention to face Fulham

RONALDO VIEIRA is firmly in contention to feature for Leeds United at Fulham tomorrow, with head coach Garry Monk declaring: 'you have to sometimes pull them back to put them back in.'

Midfielder Vieira failed to even make the substitutes’ bench for Friday night’s trip to Birmingham City and Monk confirmed that the 18-year-old was not injured and merely rested.

Left-back Charlie Taylor also failed to make the match-night squad, despite having been declared fit after recovering from an Achilles injury that has kept him out since December.

But both Taylor and Vieira remain very much in contention to feature in Tuesday night’s Championship crunch clash at Fulham, with Monk particularly keen to take a patient approach with the still inexperienced Vieira.

“They are all available,” said Monk.

“Ronny was available (for Birmingham) but I have to manage the group how I want to manage them and with young lads you have to sometimes pull them back to put them back in.

“And Ronny was one of them.

“He could have played and travelled but it’s for me to manage all of those situations and manage the group right and what I feel is best for them and make sure that everyone is ready for the games that come.”
