Whites boss Daniel Farke and Sunderland head coach Mike Dodds both held their pre-match press conferences on Monday afternoon ahead of Tuesday night’s clash at Elland Road. Several players across both sides were already known to be out or doubtful but new names have now been added to the mix. Here, we run through the injuries, absentees or doubts from both camps which now totals 13.
Saturday’s defeat at Coventry has left Daniel Farke’s Whites third in the Championship table, one point behind second-placed Ipswich Town and two points adrift of leaders Leicester City who also have a game in hand. Sunderland, who are 13th, have bagged just one win from their last ten games.

9. Nazariy Rusyn (out)
Sunderland's Ukrainian forward Rusyn has now missed his side's last four games with a calf injury and Dodds revealed on Monday that he was not close to making a return. The newest and ninth man out.Nazariy Rusyn Photo: George Wood
10. Ethan Ampadu (doubt)
A big one. Whites boss Daniel Farke revealed at Monday's pre-match press conference that key man Ampadu had been unwell over the last 48 hours and was a big doubt to face the Black Cats. Photo: Ed Sykes
11. Connor Roberts (doubt)
Roberts returned from a muscular injury earlier than expected for Saturday's defeat at Coventry in which he was brought on as a half-time substitute. The Wales international full-back came through the full match but Farke revealed on Monday that Roberts had experienced a reaction and was taken out of training as a precaution. Roberts is expected to be okay but there is now an element of doubt. Photo: Alex Burstow
12. Willy Gnonto (doubt)
Gnonto is in the same boat as Roberts as he too returned from a hamstring injury earlier than expected at Coventry as an 84th-minute substitute and immediately looked quite lively. But Farke has said Leeds need to be careful with him too following an earlier than envisaged return which again creates a small element of doubt, certainly as a potential starting option goes.
