Since the days of Simon Grayson, Leeds United have struggled to make any serious impact in the FA Cup.

Grayson masterminded the sensational upset at Manchester United in 2010 and took League One Leeds to round four that year, eventually losing to Tottenham Hotspur in a replay. In the following five seasons, United have made the fourth round only once in 2013 when Neil Warnock’s side were thrashed 4-0 by Manchester City. A worse defeat followed in round three 12 months later as Rochdale conjured up a 2-0 win while Brian McDermott was in charge.

Leeds last qualified for the fifth round in 2003, making the quarter-finals before their run ended at the hands of Warnock’s Sheffield United.

United’s recent FA Cup results:

2010-11 - Round three: Arsenal 1 Leeds United 1 (Arsenal won 3-1 after a replay at Elland Road)

2011-12 - Round three: Arsenal 1 Leeds United 0

2012-13 - Round three: Leeds United 1 Birmingham City 1 (Leeds won 2-1 after a replay at St Andrews)

Round four: Manchester City 4 Leeds United 0

2013-14 - Round three: Rochdale 2 Leeds United 0

2014-15 - Round three: Sunderland 1 Leeds United 0
