Leeds United’s under-21s return to action with the visit of Derby County’s youngsters today, for a game which presents a big chance for the Whites.

Scott Gardner’s side have not played since falling to a 4-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest last weekend, a result which left them bottom of the 26-team Premier League Two table after 16 games played. Leeds, though, now have the chance to climb the ladder with this afternoon’s visit of Derby who themselves are second-bottom, just two points ahead of the Whites who also have a game in hand.

Leeds have games in hand on the six teams above them and victory against Derby would also take Gardner’s side level on points with third-bottom Leicester City who are three points ahead of United but also having played two games more. Here, we will bring you team news as soon as it lands followed by updates and analysis from the 1pm kick-off at Thorp Arch which presents the fourth-last league game of the season for the young Whites.

Leeds United under-21s 3 Derby County under-21s 0 live

12: By Van den Heuvel, low shot through a crowded box from Weston tipped away, good reactions

16: A decent break and Charlie Allen is played in down the right and is away but flagged offside.

16: From Thomas, tries one from distance, attempting to use the wind with keeper off his line but wide.

18: From Debayo who has been solid so far for a Derby corner

19: By Thomas back at the corner to read the delivery and cut it out, Leeds clear

Half a chance Leeds

21: Allen pokes a shot wide arriving at the far post to a decent delivery from Godden from the left

22: Snowdon with the finish!

Clinical from Leeds

22: A Derby mess as they give the ball away to Thomas who is able to run at the defence down the right, cool head as he cuts inside and squares to Snowdon who is arriving on the scene - could have gone for goal himself - smart finish from Snowdon who tucks the ball home from just inside the box. Snowdon has been decent.

25: Free kick cleared to him in the box, firm low shot looks dangerous but blocked and Derby clear.

Snowdon again!!!!
