Leeds United’s Under-21s fought out their second 0-0 draw in the space of three days at home to Birmingham City this afternoon.
United, who contested a goalless league game at Crystal Palace on Tuesday, secured a point in a low-key exchange with Birmingham.
City came closest to snatching the win with a shot from Alex Jones which struck a post while Tom Lyman’s 70th-minte strike was inches from finding the corner of the net.
Birmingham striker Jack Storer, who was denied by a good save from Bailey Peacock-Farrell early in the second half, missed a glaring late chance to win the game when he nodded a free header wide.
United: Peacock-Farrell, Vann, P McKay, Skelton, Denton, Purver, Vieira (Odour 78), Lyman, Mulhern, Parkin (Pearce 67), J McKay (Wilks 63). Subs (not used): Downing, Grimes.
