Have your say

Leeds United legend Brendan Ormsby answers your questions.

Hello Brendan,

Leeds have released Richard Naylor. Does it surprise you after he ended the season in the side and did well?

IT does and it doesn’t really Grant. I’m probably of the same mind as United manager Simon Grayson because of Richard’s age and the fact injuries have restricted him over the past couple of years. I got to that stage in my career where you have to face up to the fact that time is catching up with you.

Richard has served Leeds well. Yes, he’s had a few bad times, which we all have, but I don’t think that’s the reason why Simon let him go. It will have been a harder decision because Nayls has been captain and a leader. If Richard can go and get first-team football somewhere, Simon will be pleased. Nayls has never let anyone down and he was particularly important in getting United out of League One.
