LEEDS United goalkeeper Marco Silvestri has been nominated for February’s Championship player-of-the-month award.

The Italian is part of a four-man shortlist alongside Watford striker Odion Ighalo, Derby County’s Tom Ince and Nottingham Forest’s Henri Lansbury.

Silvestri’s form dipped around Christmas after a strong start to the season but he returned to form last month, producing a man-of-the-match display in Leeds’ 1-0 win at Middlesbrough on February 21.

He is the third United player to be shortlisted for a player-of-the-month award this term following Alex Mowatt’s nomination in November and Luke Murphy’s in January. Neither Mowatt nor Murphy landed the trophy.
