Phillips, 20, has graduated from the club’s thriving Academy and made his Whites debut in the 4-3 Championship loss at Wolves in April 2015.

The youngster then scored in his second Leeds appearance - in the 2-1 defeat at home to Cardfiff City five days later.

The midfielder only made ten appearances last season but a new three-year-deal suggests Phillips will be a big part of United’s plans moving forward under new head coach Garry Monk.

The new contract is set to be signed by Phillips in the next couple of days.
