ALEX MOWATT and Scott Wootton will be two absentees from Leeds United’s two-week training camp in Italy after picking up minor injuries in the close season.
Teenage midfielder Mowatt, who lifted the club’s Young Player of the Year accolade in May, will undergo rehabilitation and fitness work back at Leeds, along with defender Wootton.
Head coach David Hockaday confirmed: “Mowatt and Wootton have come back with injuries and they have done the proper thing by reporting them in.
“They have been in for the last two weeks or so, maybe longer. They are well on the way to recovery, although they are not quite going to make the Italian trip.
“But they will be okay when we come back.”
Winger Ryan Hall – suspended and later released by United last season - has signed a year’s deal with Rotherham.
Millers boss Steve Evans said: “Ryan has tremendous ability. It’s fair to say he went off the rails for a time at Elland Road, but we believe he’s matured as an individual now.”
