Brian Montenegro plundered a brace as Leeds United U21s produced a powerhouse second-half performance to see off Yorkshire rivals Sheffield United 4-1.

United did it the hard way after coming from behind to sink the Blades at Thorp Arch after Connor Dimaio put the visitors ahead.

Montenegro captialised on indecision to put Leeds level on the half-hour and the hosts went onto grab three unanswered second-half goals.

Chris Dawson fired past George Long to pu8t Leeds in front on 53 minutes and Montenegro added another 13 minutes from time.

Luke Parkin put gloss on an accomplished win with a fourth.

Leeds: Cairns, Booker, Thompson, Skelton, Denton, Phillips, Purver, Murphy, Dawson, Montenegro, Parkin. Substitutes: Grimes, Coyle, Mulhern, Lyman, Bennett.

United’s trip to face Championship rivals Middlesbrough on Saturday, February 21 will now be shown live on Sky Sports, with a 12.15pm kick-off.
