Jansson missed Tuesday night’s EFL Cup quarter final at Liverpool with swollen throat glands while O’Kane and Cooper were both taken off during the mid-week clash at Anfield over concerns to their groin and ankle respectively.

But Whites head coach Garry Monk gave a positive update on all three players at his Thursday afternoon press conference, revealing that Jansson had returned to training and that O’Kane and Cooper were only taken off as precautionary measures.

Monk said: “Eunan’s substitution was more precautionary so we don’t envisage any problems for the weekend. It was just his groin - just a slight tightness in his groin.

“He’s had that for a few weeks now so it’s just about managing him properly.

“I think he just felt it tighten a little bit in the game so rather than continuing we brought him off as a precaution.

“With Coops, the scan came back good.

“We thought it maybe could have been a crack or he felt a bit of a crack on the top end of his ankle going up to his leg but that came back fine.

“We will just assess how he feels physically over the next couple of days but to be fair the players are recovering well.

“Pontus has been back in training so there are no problems with Pontus. He obviously missed the Rotherham game through suspension and then missed the other night through illness.

“It was just through his glands in his throat which were up but he has been back in training and he was training yesterday and he was training today so no problems for the weekend for him to be in the squad.”

Leeds will still be without both captain Liam Bridcutt and no 10 Pablo Hernandez this weekend but Bridcutt will return to training on Monday.

Hernandez will need another one or two weeks.

Kyle Bartley is also fine after taking a knock towards the end of Tuesday’s game at Anfield.
