Sheffield Wednesday forward Fernando Forestieri had a dig at Leeds United owner Massimo Cellino after his side’s victory on Saturday.

Forestieri was a target for Cellino in the summer, but never seemed likely to move to Elland Road. However, the 57-year-old told the media that a deal had been agreed, much to the general bemusement of Forestieri, who repeatedly put up images on social media insisting he was happy at Watford.

He ultimately moved to Hillsborough and has impressed ever since, scoring 11 times in 21 league games.

Cellino later claimed that Forestieri lacked the “right mentality” to play for the Whites.

Unsurprisingly, the 26-year-old put in a good performance against Leeds when the two sides faced one another on Saturday.

After the game he took to social media to hit back at Cellino’s earlier jibe.

He wrote: “Great win today! The whole team had the “right mentality” to win the 3 points!!! Thanks for all your support!”
