PREMIER LEAGUE duo Everton and Aston Villa are monitoring on-song Leeds United midfielder Alex Mowatt - according to national reports.

The 19-year-old, called up to the England under-20 squad last week, has been in eye-catching form of late and netted a brace in the 2-2 midweek win over Charlton Athletic.

The Doncaster-born player, who made his debut against his hometown club in a Capital One Cup tie in August 2013, has already hit four goals this term and also netted in last weekend’s defeat at Cardiff City.

Reports suggest that Mowatt is on the radar of Toffees boss Roberto Martinez, while Villa chief Paul Lambert is also reportedly trailing the teenager.

Mowatt signed a three-and-a-half year contract extension last December and is contracted to the club until the summer of 2017.

Full stretch: Rob Green has been ever-present for Leeds in the Championship this term.
