Brian McDermott is again considering the option of recalling El-Hadji Diouf after welcoming the Leeds United forward back to full training.
Out-of-favour Diouf has worked with United’s squad all week, making himself available for tomorrow’s match against Barnsley at Elland Road.
The Senegalese striker has been out of the picture for almost two months after a series of personal issues led to prolonged absences from Thorp Arch.
McDermott gave former Liverpool striker Diouf permission to miss numerous sessions but admitted last week that he would not consider selecting the 32-year-old until he resumed regular training.
His comments cast fresh doubt on the future of Diouf who has not played since October and is out of contract at the end of the season.
But the Leeds manager said: “Dioufy’s trained with us this week and that’s good.
“I’ve spoken to him again and told him I’d spoken to the press about his situation.
“I asked if it was okay with him because I wanted to make what was going on with him public.
“He said ‘fine, no problem.’ It’s good to have him around the place again.”
