BOOKIES were today offering odds of 11/4 on Leeds being relegated from the Championship, following last night’s disastrous defeat at the hands of Blackburn.

The chances of the Elland Road squad retaining their place in the league slipped dramatically following the 2-0 result, with all the main bookmakers shortening their odds.

Bet365, Coral and Betfair were among those quoting 11/4.

Leeds head coach Steve Evans said he may have to bring in up to six new players after seeing his side’s winless home run stretch to almost eight months.

He said: “We won’t get sucked in (to a relegation fight), I’ve come here to sort it out,” said Evans, whose first home game in charge ended in defeat the day before his 53rd birthday.
