Meanwhile, Kermorgant has derided Leeds as an attacking force with ‘no plan B’ in the potential absence of Wood.

And he has also scoffed at United’s playing style in comments harkening back to chants of ‘boring, boring Reading’ from Leeds fans in the reverse fixture in December.

Wood came off injured after 33 minutes of that Elland Road clash, but not before finding the net, with Reading failing to make inroads in his absence en route to a 2-0 defeat.

Kermorgant, who has revealed plans to retire at the end of next season, said: “Chris Wood has scored nearly all of Leeds’ goals this season. If he gets injured, they have no plan B. As a striker, I always want more goals, but as long as we get a result, I am happy.

“Some teams might think we’re boring but we might think they are boring playing long balls.”
