YEP writer Phil Hay provides his Leeds United player ratings on the back of the 2-1 defeat against Charlton Athletic at Elland Road. Do you agree with his choices?

Marco Silvestri

Not a lot he could do about either goal and United’s defending left him clutching at air on more than two occasions. 6/10

Lewie Coyle

His partnership with Botaka didn’t fully click and they got out of shape for Charlton’s second strike but he looks at home at this level. 6/10

Sol Bamba

A few shaky moments in the first half but came into the game in a big way at 2-0, acting as a virtual playmaker and pulling a goal back. 6/10

Liam Cooper

Did a lot of decent work, in amongst a few errors, but it’s been proven on enough occasions this season that Leeds’ defence is not reliable enough. 6/10

Charlie Taylor

Laid on Bamba’s header and did a massive amount of running on the left. Much of United’s second-half pressure was caused by him. 7/10

Liam Bridcutt

Started well but the midfield weren’t able to keep Charlton penned in. The visitors limited their attacks but made the most of them. 5/10

Luke Murphy

Probably the best of the midfielders and the result might have been different had he taken his early chance. 6/10

Jordan Botaka

Will be relatively satisfied with how he played, even if he wasn’t able to turn the game in Leeds’ favour or match Taylor’s crossing. Like Coyle, didn’t look out of water. 6/10

Lewis Cook

Another game where you were hoping for a bit more from him. Saw plenty of the ball but found it hard to get at Charlton. 5/10

Stuart Dallas

Threatened in patches before the break but appeared to be fading when Evans chose to replace him just as Charlton scored their second. 5/10

Chris Wood

Will feel that he should have found the net when his header came back off the bar. That was a disappointing miss but his all-round display was good. 6/10

Substitutes:

Alex Mowatt (for Dallas, 51) - Showed little flashes of what he can do at his best but it’s been a long time since he won a game. 6/10

Mirco Antenucci (for Bridcutt, 66) - Should have squared to Wood with the chance which Pope blocked but the chance he laid on for his partner soon after was clever. 6/10

Toumani Diagouraga (for Murphy, 75) - Managed to get his foot into the contest but Charlton held firm. 5/10

Subs (not used): Bailey Peacock-Farrell, Scott Wootton, Kalvin Phillips, Lee Erwin.

Referee: Keith Hill (Hertfordshire) - Had no major calls for him to make and did his best to let the game flow. 7/10

Attendance: 25,458
