Listen to Neil Redfearn’s press conference ahead of Leeds United’s clash with Birmingham City at St Andrew’s.
Grant Hall v Mirco Antenucci. Wigan took Birmingham to the cleaners largely because of Callum McManaman up front. The Scouser got at Grant Hall and Paul Robinson on the right side of City’s defence and put the game to bed before half-time. Antenucci’s mobility will give him the chance to make an impression on the same area of Lee Clark’s team.
CITY’S KEY MAN
David Edgar. Birmingham out-scored most clubs at the bottom end of the Championship last season but were dragged into trouble by a pitiful defensive record. Their 4-0 defeat to Wigan before the international break was a return to bad habits but Edgar has been around the block and is a key component in a backline which has to improve.
PHIL HAY’S VERDICT
Uneasy relationship. Evidence that Birmingham might not have turned the corner spilled out of their hammering at Wigan. There’s an uneasy relationship between Clark and City’s crowd and the way Leeds started against Bolton Wanderers is the way they need to start at St Andrews. Take control early on tomorrow and three points should be very attainable.
