Leeds travel to Barnsley tomorrow hoping to find a performance to take the pressure off Simon Grayson, who in his defence, can only play the players available to him – but he must make a decision on Becchio as he has struggled to find the form of last season. With the transfer market around the corner this could be the last chance for some of the players to show the manager they are worth a starting place. A win is needed.

Leeds are now dropping points to mediocre sides, Derby being the latest before a capacity crowd courtesy of imaginative ticketing pricing others should heed.

Lees was inexplicably moved to right-back and had a torrid time before departing through injury. United had chances to win the game but lacked conviction and fortune on the day. Our last visit to Barnsley ended in humiliation. Ninety minutes at Oakwell may prove pivotal for the aspirations of the team and manager.

Prediction: Barnsley 2 Leeds United 2

Tomorrow’s game will be a belter with the Tykes already holding bragging rights after their win at Elland Road a month ago. Leeds need to start turning their form around quickly and Grayson must get his players to start believing in themselves again after they seem to have lost confidence since the Watford clash. He must also decide on the right tactics as I personally believe in the last two games his starting XI and choice of substitutions has been baffling to say the least.

United try to avoid three league defeats on the bounce when they head to Oakwell for a 1pm Yorkshire derby tomorrow. Revenge should be on the players’ minds after the 5-2 debacle last season at Barnsley and it’s high time that the Whites showed some resolution and played for the full 90 minutes instead of just the last 15 as at Derby on Boxing Day. A result is definitely required to stop a drama turning into a crisis.

Prediction: Barnsley 1 Leeds United 1

The trip to Oakwell could well prove to be the most critical match of Simon Grayson’s tenure, with victory a must. With the transfer window about to open United must improve the team if they are to have any chance of promotion. But there are plenty of questions regarding Grayson’s transfer dealings and if the chairman has lost faith in the manager the only salvation he has is to win games. Unfortunately, this is something Leeds seem incapable of, and I fear the writing is on the wall.
