Lee Clark has no doubt his in-form Huddersfield side possess all the necessary qualities to excel in the play-offs should they miss out on the second automatic promotion spot.
The Terriers stayed on the heels of second-placed Southampton with a dramatic last-minute win at champions Brighton, but now need relegation-threatened Plymouth to do them a big favour today to ensure the battle goes to the final match of the season.
Southampton, level on points with Huddersfield but with a vastly superior goal difference, can clinch promotion by winning their game in hand at Plymouth, but any other result will mean a last-day finale when Town entertain Brentford and Southampton are at home to Walsall.
Boss Clark believes his men are doing everythng possible in order to go straight up, but inisisted: “If we do go into the play-offs we`ll be ready. We can lift ourselves for the play-offs.”
Town clinched a club record sixth successive away win and 13th in all in the 90th minute when substitute Daniel Ward let fly with an unstoppable left-foot shot after being fed by Benik Afobe.
Afobe had twice given his side the lead but Brighton hit back with second half goals from Ashley Barnes and substitute Matt Sparrow.
