Guiseley manager Paul Cox has raided his former club Barrow to sign midfielder Alex-Rae Harvey.

The 26 year-old, who is in the squad for tomorrow’s trip to Woking, was born in Burnley and started his career with his hometown club’s Centre of Excellence as a youngster.

He earned his first professional contract in the summer of 2009 and played regularly for the reserves.

Harvey was loaned out to Fleetwood Town in March 2011 and again in August 2011.

He joined Barrow initially on a one-month loan in January 2012 and made his debut in a defeat at Fleetwood Town.

Harvey joined Barrow permanently in August 2012 and has made 214 appearances for them, before linking up with his former boss again, to become Cox’s eighth signing since joining Guiseley.
