Four-some Minstermen stroll to success

YORK City eased to a 4-1 success at home to Bristol Rovers in a game featuring a mad spell of four goals in six minutes.

York were gifted a 14th-minute lead by Garry Kenneth’s 14th-minute own goal but second-bottom Rovers levelled just a minute later through Tom Eaves.

However, York then netted their second another minute later through Ashley Chambers with Jason Walker then making it four goals in six minutes to put York 3-1 up.

City’s fourth arrived on 33 minutes with Chambers doubling up and amazingly given the game’s earlier exertions there were no goals in the second half.

York now sit 14th and four points off the play-offs.
