Featherstone Rovers may get fresh faces

Featherstone Rovers coach Daryl Powell hopes to have fresh blood to draw from when his side play host to Dewsbury Rams in the Northern Rail Cup on Sunday.

It will be Rovers’ second game in five days, following Wednesday night’s opening 68-0 romp at Oldham.

Rovers came through with no major injury concerns and Powell confirmed that former Great Britain winger Gareth Raynor, who was not selected two days ago, will play on Sunday.

Anthony England, Dominic Maloney, Tom Hemingway and Jon Hepworth could also be drafted in if they come through an under-23s game at home to Halifax tonight unscathed.

“It is difficult to back up, but we have got fresh players to come in so I don’t think it is a major issue,” Powell said.
