Leeds & District Junior Cup Finals

What a scorcher of a bank holiday it was for Crossgates CC Under 15's & 17's. Both winning the Cups.

The under-15's saw off Colton in the morning Cup Final, Whilst the under-17's amassed an awesome total of 274 to easily see off Rothwell in the afternoon Final both held at Methley.

Old Leo's won the toss and elected to bat. Crossgates made an early breakthrough taking a wicket with only 11 on the board. After losing a second wicket cheaply Old Leo's made a recovery with Chris Huby making 43 helped by Jason London (38), Richie Clemence (46) to help to a respectful total of 195-8 from their 45 Overs.

The pick of Crossgates bowlers were Tom Chapman 3-61 and Junior Tom Hatherly 3-13.

Crossgates set about their task with both openers Adam Tall and Australian Steve Tung both scoring 28, then Crossgates got bogged down with the scoring and also lost wickets too frequently in the middle order and despite a fighting Tom Chapman (36) and Tom Hatherly (23) and Young Junior Vinny Jheeta batted without fear to score 17 were not enough to save

Crossgates who fell 16 runs short of victory being all out for 180. The pick of Old Leo's bowling were Hugh Middleton 3-65 and Nick Boyes 5-56.
