The Academy forced Scarborough to endure a humiliating defeat as they won by 324 runs, the young Vikings smashed 381-5 from 55 overs, captain Will Rhodes’s score of 120 was up-staged by Ryan Gibson, pictured, who blasted 160 from just 106 balls.
The visitors were bundled out for 57 inside of 21 overs as Josh Warner took 4-9 aided by Joshua Shaw with 3-18,
York Responded with a win of their own beating Cleethorpes by 131 runs, York declared early on 279-4 after half centuries from Liam McKendry (80), Ryan McKendry (65) and Simon Lambert (61).
York would wrap up the win bowling out Cleethorpes for 148 thanks to 5-25 from opening bowler Chris Burn, the gap stays at nine points between the sides with two games to go.
Sheffield Proved a happy hunting ground for Harrogate, gaining wins at Sheffield United and Sheffield Collegiate.
Saturday’s 26 run win against bottom side Sheffield United saw a stand-out performance from Harrogate bowler David Foster who claimed 6-36 to see Sheffield collapse from 129-1 to 171 all out.
United were chasing Harrogate’s total of 218-8, Alexis Twigg and Scott Huntley both contributed fifties to the total.
Sunday saw an emphatic win against Collegiate, Harrogate romped home to a nine wicket win, bowling the home side out for a lowly total of 71. Tom Geeson-Brown doing the bulk of the damage claiming 4-33.
Castleford had mixed fortunes, losing to Barnsley on Saturday by 24 runs to then follow that with a 92 run win against a despondent Scarborough side.
