Wortley's Khan hits a stunner

A SENSATIONAL knock of 164 from R Khan helped high-flying New Wortley (304) to amass a stack of runs in their Dales Council League A Division victory over Hepworth and Idle (210-8) at the weekend.

Adam Cosherill's 68 proved in vain for the losers.

Matthew Dibb (58) and Steve Hirst (50) helped leaders Rodley (226-9) to account for Farnley Hill (150), while Scott Sladen hit a defiant 52 as second-placed Shipley Providence (166-7) overcame Crompark (165), for whom J Rashid pocketed 5-54.

Good innings from Farhan Khan (80) and Naeem Khan (55) enabled Halifax Direct (220-9) to hold sway against Hawksworth (164), despite a fine knock of 69 from J Khuzikha.

In B Division, Tyson Illingworth's outstanding haul of 8-41 helped front runners Drighlington (226-9) to take the scalp of third-placed Hepworth and Idle B (114), for whom Paul Medley bagged useful figures of 5-50.

Ben Tempest's useful 69 saw Farsley (201-8) home against Baildon B (200), while in C Division, tidy contributions from Simon Mace (5-4), Aidan Dunne (59no) and Richard Francis (61) helped Whitehall (141-4) to a comfortable six-wicket victory against hosts Cookridge (140).
