Moxon: It's down to how Yorkshire play now
Martyn Moxon is taking no notice of the Twenty20 Cup North table as Yorkshire head to Durham this evening.
After Monday evening's 11-run loss at Nottinghamshire Outlaws, the Tykes sit third in their group with the top two, plus the two best third-placed sides, qualifying for the quarter-finals.
Durham, who are top of the LV County Championship rankings, have so far struggled with the switch to Twenty20 this term, but Moxon is reading nothing into Yorkshire's placing higher up the table.
"This year, Notts were bottom with only two points out of six," said director of cricket Moxon. "That's amazing given the team they have got.
"I don't think we can take too much notice of the table – all the teams are very capable of beating each other.
"We need to be at our best for all the matches this week."
Yorkshire are facing a busy schedule with tonight's encounter coming hot on the heels of Monday's setback at Trent Bridge.
Carnegie then visit Leicestershire Foxes on Friday before their final Twenty20 group stage game against Derbyshire at Headingley Carnegie 48 hours later.
Yorkshire then return to county championship action against Somerset in Taunton in a four day contest beginning next Tuesday.
But Moxon says his men have no qualms about the hectic demands.
"We've got four games in seven days as we play Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday," said the former Yorkshire opener.
"It's a busy schedule on the back of three Championship games back to back.
"It's a busy month for us, but it's something the lads are looking forward to and hopefully we can progress to the last eight of the Twenty20 Cup."
Tonight's opponents Durham were also in action last night at Derbyshire, racking up a six-wicket win.
