Matt runs up third century
FORMER Barnsley batsman Matthew Jordan hammered his third century of the season to keep unbeaten Ackworth on course to lift the Pontefract League Division One title for the first time for 11 years.
The 19-year-old opener struck five sixes in an unbeaten 114 against Crofton to take his tally to 501 league runs this year.
He shared an unbroken 173-run stand with Richard Young (48no) as Ackworth won by 10 wickets.
Ackworth are five points ahead of defending champions Streethouse who trounced bottom side Wombwell Main by 110 runs.
Martin Rhodes (4-34) and skipper Richard Vigars (3-11) bowled out Wombwell for 157 after Vigars (82), Jonathan Hughes (62) and Paul Langley (50) had guided Streethouse to 267-6.
Bruce Percy (56) and Langley (45no) shared a 94-run partnership as Streethouse reached the last 16 in the National Village Cup with Sunday's eight-wicket win over Northumberland side Warkworth.
Featherstone and Old Sharlston kept alive their title hopes on Saturday.
James Dunn (103), Myles Robinson (46), Jamie Robinson (4-39) and Bart Thompson (4-63) led Featherstone to a 101-run success over Sprotbrough.
Meanwhile, openers Tom Craig (106) and Dale McMullan (64) put on 161 as Sharlston beat Barnby Dun by 61 runs.
Frickley Colliery's championship hopes faded with their third straight league defeat at Hooton Pagnell.
Daniel Owen hit 87 as Hooton overhauled Frickley's 143 that included 43 from Shane Payne.
Division Two promotion-chasers Rothwell avenged the previous weekend's Farmery Florist Trophy quarter-final defeat at Thorne Colliery.
Mark Symmons (3-32) and Phil Wood (2-29) limited Thorne to 142-7, replying to Rothwell's 235-6 that featured 94 from Simon Danby and 41 by Simon Booth.
Rothwell climbed above South Kirkby who lost second spot with a five-wicket defeat to Stainborough. Dale Woolsey (73no), Nick Percival (32) and Jack Birkby (32) led Kirkby's scoring.
Sandal and Allerton Bywater slipped deeper into relegation trouble.
Amijid Sadiq's 49 was in vain for Sandal in a seven-wicket defeat to Monk Bretton.
Allerton Bywater lost a low-scoring match at Askern, despite Paul Wadsworth's 5-11 and Joe Sykes' 37.
Nostell retained top spot in Division Three when Richard Hardman (89) and Wayne Noble (43no) steered them to a nine-wicket victory at Thurnscoe.
Normanton's revival continued when they beat Frickley A by 99 runs.
Steve Goodwin (92) led Normanton to 260-9 and Frickley managed only 161 in reply, despite Keith Whitehouse's 93.
Ryhill's 41-run defeat to Yorkshire Main was hard on Paul Batley (56no) and Peter Lomas (4-54).
